2.1. Description of the dress pattern design

The dress is made on the basis of a straight sheath dress, the skirt is slightly narrowed towards the bottom.

The cut of the shelf is asymmetrical.

Darts for the chest are added on the shelf for medium and large sizes, which allows you to use the pattern for figures of any fullness.

The lower part of the shelf - the skirt consists of several fragments.

The pocket is the simplest. We can say that it resembles the design of a pocket with a detachable barrel.

Stretch fabrics with little or medium stretch will be most suitable. Not too loose and not too thick.

In a word, dress knitwear is suitable.

The trim is also knitted. It can be either an elastic band in a contrasting color or stripes from a companion jersey. The thinner the finishing jersey, the better.

The fabric consumption will be from 175 to 220 cm. The preferred width is 150 cm.

3. How to cut a dress of this style according to this pattern

Before cutting, a decision must be made on how the finish will be processed.

The simplest and “cleanest” option is if the braid or inlay is superimposed on the shelf and adjusted.

At the same time, the stitching seams of the shelf fragments should be on the front side and covered with braid or inlay.

3.1. How to prepare a bake

There are two options.

Knitted trim is cut across the cut. Strips 4,5 - 5 cm. The edges are ironed, like a regular oblique inlay.

The difficulty is that with such an obvious method, it is very difficult to achieve a uniform width of the inlay.

It is easier if the strip is double, to iron it in half lengthwise, topstitch one edge, iron and topstitch near the fold.

In this case, the width of the inlay in the cutting is about 6 cm.

3.2. When the processing option is selected, you can start cutting

(picture 2).

Seam allowances 1 cm. The exception is the neck, we do not add allowances along the cut of the neck.

Please note that this model has both paired and unpaired parts.

For cutting paired parts - the back and sleeves - the fabric is folded in half, and the unpaired ones are laid out on the turn of the fabric.

Thus, cutting is more convenient to produce in several stages.

First, fold the fabric in half along the width of the back pattern and cut it out. Then, fold the fabric in half for the sleeve.

We spread the rest of the fabric inside out and lay out the unpaired patterns with the inscriptions up.

You can lay out the patterns on the front side of the fabric, then all the inscriptions should be at the bottom.

In any case, it is important that all the patterns are inscriptions up or all inscriptions down.

After cutting, we perform notches and outline (with a thread) a semi-skid (the middle line of the shelf).

4. How to sew this dress step by step

1. We process the middle seam of the back with a hidden zipper.
2. We process the pocket: we sew the burlap-turning along the line of entry into the pocket from notch to notch; we iron and perform a fixing seam allowance - the seam allowance is adjusted to the burlap; ironing; we grind and overcast burlap; ironing; we connect the "ends" of the burlap on the continuation of the line of entry into the pocket; we apply and adjust the finish.
3. We grind the side fragment (if it is provided), iron it, adjust the trim, iron it. We compare the finished skirt with the whole skirt pattern.
4. We connect the upper and lower parts of the shelf, iron and adjust the finish. We iron again.
5. We grind and iron the tucks.
6. We sew the sleeve along the raglan line and sweep the side-sleeve seams.
7. Trying - we specify the degree of fit.
8. We adjust the raglan trim.
9. Stitch the side seams.
10. We process the bottom with trim.
