This is a straight case with darts. Of course, tucks can be ignored or reduced.

The cape (cape) is made with markings of various lengths and shapes.

On the back and shelf, as well as on the cape, cutouts of the neck of various shapes are marked.

Let's take a closer look:

1. "Normal neck" is not signed on the drawing and fits the collar. A cape is provided for it, which is attached to the dress along the “deep neckline” line.

4. How to cut a dress - a case and a cape according to a finished pattern

There are no difficulties here, but for convenience, it is advisable to cut in two steps (picture 2).

First, we cut out the cape, having previously folded the fabric in half, and then the case. For the case, as usual, fold the fabric in half along the width of the front and back with allowances for the seams.

Seam allowances are needed only along the side and shoulder seams of 1 - 1,2 cm, as well as along the bottom up to 3 cm.

We do not add seams along the neckline and armholes.

The case for the dress is cut in the same way as the "top" dress.

On the 2 drawing the variant of the neck "wide boat" is shown.

5. How to sew a sheath dress with a cape step by step

The peculiarity of the processing is that the neckline and armholes are turned with “lining” (“lower”) details of the dress. Other options are also possible. For example, processing an armhole with an oblique trim - edging or turning.

Consider the simplest possible option - a dress without a cover with a chiffon cape - a cape in the neck.

1. Gather the back with a zipper in the middle seam if the cutout on the back is small.
2. Collect a shelf.
3. Finish the shoulder seams.
4. Stitch the neck with a cape - the seam between the dress and the cape, and the inside is “clean”.
5. Sweep side seams and try on.
6. Finish the side seams and armholes.
7. Process the bottom.
