The sleeve also has a bottom detail that resembles a detail from a classic two-seam jacket sleeve.

Darts have been added to the dress pattern as a bonus from the developer. This is in case there is a need to make the dress fitted.

The middle seams of the back and front can be ignored and the dress can be cut by laying the middle lines (straight) of the patterns on the fold of the fabric. A dress without seams will look a little baggy, but if the fabric is loose and can disperse at stress points, it is better to cut the back and front in one piece, that is, without middle seams.

The Pocket detail can also be called a pocket only conditionally. On the patterns, folds and loops are marked, as well as a slot for a “frame” pocket.

Please note that the folds on the Pocket details do not match the darts so that there are no large thickenings.

4. What fabric to sew a sheath dress from

The denim that you see in the photo is not the only one suitable for this style. You can use dress wool, tartan and linen fabrics. Dense, but not too thick dress knitwear with a little stretch is also suitable.

Consumption with a width of 150 cm will be 200 cm or 270 cm. This is taking into account the maximum length of the dress according to the pattern and long sleeves.

6. How to cut a sheath dress in large and small sizes according to ready-made patterns

As with cutting other models, we first determine the length of the dress and sleeve.

To measure the length of the dress in this case, measure the length of the skirt along the side on the pattern and on the figure.

To measure the length of the sleeve - from the side point of the neck to the desired length according to the pattern and according to the figure. When measuring the length of the sleeve, lower the arm and bend at the elbow.

Allowances 1 cm, except for the neck. DO NOT ADD seam allowance at the neckline! On the bottom, of course, up to 3 cm. This is for a hem with a closed cut (double hem).

Now about the dimensions of the rectangular parts.

belt width and cuffs in cutting = 2 widths in finished form + 2 cm.

Belt length in cutting = Waist circumference + 40 see.

The belt in the cut can consist of two parts, if one part is insufficient in length.

You can cut the belt and cuffs both along (along the lobar) and across (along the transverse).

Loops: width 4 - 5 cm. Length of each 8 - 10 cm. Quantity 3 - 5 pieces, depending on your idea.

Frame-type pocket details: Valance and two facings.

The length of the valance and facing = Pocket length in finished form + 5 cm.

Frame facing width = Finished pocket width + 2 cm.

If you have a leaf

Leaflet piping width = 2 finished pocket widths + 2 cm.

Now for the scrutiny...

It will not be needed in all cases. For example, if the fabric is double-sided, then the gap is not needed. Or if the “lower” part of the Pocket shelf performs the function of a valance, that is, it will face the wrong side of the “upper” part, then the valance is also not required.

But, if you need a valance, then its dimensions are as follows:

Valance length = Finished pocket length + 5 cm.

Valance width = 8 to 10 cm.

In most cases, the facings are cut along the share, and the gap - along the transverse, although this is not important for the gap in the frame or leaflet.

7. How to sew a raglan sheath dress with a pocket on the belt with your own hands - sewing sequence

1. We start by assembling the dress: tucks, if any; side and middle seam in front. After each operation - ironing. If the assembly is for fitting, then we perform a running line (machine or manual) and iron lightly.
2. We assemble the sleeve: we grind the seams of the upper half and the lower. On the elbow cut, we leave 6 - 8 cm for slots processing. We grind the middle seam of the coquette of the shelf.
3. We connect the sleeves and the dress. Regarding the notches: the marks are applied to the patterns, we combine them.
4. We sew or sew a zipper.
5. We perform the fitting, and then we make changes.
