4. What to sew a raincoat from
Any raincoat fabric that you like will do. Of course, you can use thin coat fabrics and tight jeans. Although, it will no longer be a cloak.
Lining - also any. You can use both satin linings and flannelette or knitted nets.
If the raincoat is unlined, then the sections can be edged.
The consumption of the "top" fabric will be from 310 to 350 cm with a width of 150 cm.
Lining consumption - from 210 to 260 cm with a width of 150 cm.
To clarify the consumption, you should perform a preliminary layout of the patterns before buying fabric.

6. How to cut a raglan cloak according to a simple finished pattern
To begin with, it is worth adjusting the length of the raincoat and sleeves on the patterns. Let me remind you that we measure the length of the sleeve from the side point of the neck over the shoulder along the bent elbow to the base of the hand. And the length of the product on the back.
Approximate layouts of the "top" and lining are shown in figure 2.
The direction of the share thread is indicated on the patterns.
Seam allowances 1 cm, except for the neckline. We do not add seam allowances along the neckline. On the bottom - 3 - 5 cm, where 3 cm for a hem with an open cut, if the sections are edging and 5 cm for a hem with a closed cut (double hem), if the processing is without edging.
It is better to cut out the collar after trying it on in order to accurately determine its size. The collar size is adjusted along the midline.
The formulas for calculating the width and length of the belt in the cutting look like this:
Waistband Width = Double Finished Width + 2cm
Belt length = finished length + 2 cm
The straps on the sleeves are calculated in the same way.
The fabric is folded in half, the edges are aligned and the patterns are laid out in the most economical way, but taking into account the shared direction.
After cutting, it is worth putting notches on the details, indicating with them the waist, the end of the collar and the level of the elbow.
Then, mark the half-skid by laying a thread on both shelves, and mark the pockets.
7. How to sew a raincoat at home - sequence.
- Collect top.
- Assemble lining.
- Try on.
- Assemble the collar.
- Connect the "top" with the collar, and then with the lining.
- Process the bottom.
