The style can be sewn from dense or loose knitted fabrics, as well as from knitwear such as jersey or imitation knitted fabric.

The design of the patterns is adapted for stretch with low stretch and stretch, which "poorly tolerates" high stretch.

For example, if you choose a pattern without a tuck, then the striped or checkered knitwear pattern on the chest will be noticeably distorted and the larger the chest, the greater the distortion.

The set of patterns for a sheath dress with four seams includes (Fig. 1): patterns for the front, back, front and back halves of the sleeves, front and back halves of the collar.

Cutting This dress is extremely simple if it is done on a stretch.

You will not need to add additional seam allowances, except for the "house" for the tuck from the armhole.

The pattern layout for large sizes will look like in fig. 2.

If you need an additional tuck at the waist (if the correction along the side or middle seam of the front does not give a good fit), mark it vertically between the side seam and the top of the tuck.

It is desirable to shift the lower top of the tuck by 1 cm to the side seam.

How to sew a sheath dress with 4 seams?

Extremely simple: using an overlock knit stitch.

We start with the fact that we grind the tucks with a narrow zigzag and iron them down.

When the overlock is set, we sew the halves of the collar into the neck and the sprout, iron the sewing seams.

Then, we grind the middle seams and iron them.

The side seams of the collar merge into the shoulder seams. We also grind them, but we put a thin edge or braid under the shoulder so that the shoulder does not stretch. The seam, of course, is ironed.

We grind the middle seam of the sleeve and side seams, iron them.

It remains only to sweep and sew the sleeve.

More experienced tailors can simply prick the sleeve with pins, lining up the middle seam of the sleeve with the shoulder seam.

All flying cuts are simply overcast.
