2.2. What to sew a loose boho-style semi-overalls from and what expense

Boho style imposes some restrictions on the choice of fabrics.

Corduroy and denim are preferred, as are heavy linen fabrics. For the cold season, a tartan, striped fabric or ordinary dress wool in soothing colors is suitable.

Tailoring such overalls from footer or fleece is also possible. Velvet with a stable cotton base can be used if you have experience sewing with pile fabrics.

Consumption depends on how the bodice of the overalls will be processed. If the bodice is single and its upper cut is edged or processed with a facing, then the consumption will be 170 - 210 cm, with a width of 150 cm.

If you are going to make a double bodice, then you will need a thinner lining or finishing fabric - 35 - 40 cm.

For example, if you are sewing trousers from plain velveteen, then bright colored chintz trim will be appropriate. You can make a lapel cuff (a strip of fabric along the length of the lower cut) along the bottom from the same finishing fabric and a pocket valance also from it.

If the fabric chosen for the jumpsuit is thin enough and allows you to make the bodice double, then add 35 - 40 cm to the consumption.

In order not to get confused with the calculation of consumption, it is recommended to perform a preliminary layout of the patterns (on any cut).

4. How to cut women's semi-overalls of large and small sizes according to ready-made patterns

4.1. General cutting rules and seam allowances

First, let's decide on the length of the details - we will measure the length of the trousers along the side of the figures from the waist to the desired length. If necessary, we bend the pattern from the bottom.

Before cutting, we also bend the corner of the PP along the line of entry into the pocket. After processing the pocket, we compare the pattern of PP and PP trousers, so there is no need to cut off the corner.

We make the straps long - a strip across the entire width of the fabric (picture 2).

The width of the straps in the cut is 10 cm, with a width of 4 cm in finished form:

2 strap widths in finished form + 2 cm

Allowances for seams - 1 cm, do not add at the waist of the trousers, at the waist of the bodice - at will.

4.2. Laying patterns on fabric

The layout is quite simple - the fabric is folded in half face inward, the edges are aligned and parallel to the edge of the cutting table.

Patterns are laid out in accordance with the shared direction. In this case, the share of the RFP may deviate slightly.

Pay attention to the shared thread in the burlap facing - it is desirable that the shared thread runs along the line of entry into the pocket. This trick will allow you not to glue the pocket and avoid its deformation in the sock.

We lay the PP bodice of the shelf with a half-skid (middle line) on the fold of the fabric, if the seam is not provided.

The middle seam of the bodice of the back can be both shared and "oblique", that is, the share can run along the middle seam of the back or be perpendicular to the cut of the waist - at your discretion.

Notches for this model are only needed for quality control and symmetry. They should be made along the line of entry into the pocket, along the semi-skid of the bodice of the shelf, along the knee of the PP and ZP.

4.3. How to cut an oversized boho dungaree from corduroy or velvet

Both velveteen and velvet are pile fabrics.

They are more difficult to sew due to the need to use devices for ironing seams - a block with velcro or card tape nailed to it.

The cutting rule is as follows - all parts must have the same pile direction (picture 3).

5. How to sew an oversized boho dungaree at home

Step-by-step sequence of sewing with your own hands:

1. We process the PP pocket - stitch the burlap-turning; fasten the allowances with a line from the face, bending them towards the burlap of the facing; iron; perform a finishing line; put a burlap-valance; perform bindings; stitch and overcast burlap; iron the finished pocket.
2. Assemble the bodice. Stitch the upper cut of the bodice with a piping or, using the “lower” bodice, as a piping.
3. Collect trousers.
4. Connect the bodice and trousers.
5. Process the straps.
6. Sew straps to back bodice.
7. Try on.
8. Process the bottom, loop on the straps and sew on the buttons.
