The most difficult thing in this model will be, perhaps, the choice of style and processing option.

The jacket has a straight cut, but due to the side protruding strongly forward, its silhouette approaches a trapezoid, and the lower part of the back transforms the trapezoid into a kind of cocoon.

The collar is made in the likeness of a "shawl", and the hood has a relief line.

The embossed line of the sleeve coincides with the elbow roll and allows you to more rationally lay out the patterns on the fabric.

4. From what to sew this jacket - down jacket

Any raincoat fabric is suitable for sewing, which everyone can choose to their taste. What is raincoat fabric You already know, of course.

You can add the names of raincoat fabrics that are popular this season: “Canada”, “Alaska”, “Memory”, “Lake”.

In addition to raincoat fabric, you will need lining fabric. Here, too, the choice is quite rich. You can choose between viscose and cotton. Satin and shirt fabric are also suitable.

For burlap pockets in a women's jacket, you can use both the "top" fabric and the lining. But of course, the "pocket" remains the best option.

Heater can be selected proceeding from the fact that only the “top” will be quilted or from the fact that both the “top” and the lining are quilted. The second option is preferred.

The use of quilted fabrics is not considered for this model.

The consumption of the "top" fabric will be from 320 to 350 cm, depending on the size. This is with a width of 150 cm.

Lining fabric consumption - from 190 to 220 cm, with a width of 150 cm.

The consumption of insulation depends on whether there will be only a stitch of the “top” or both the “top” and the lining. The width of the insulation, in most cases, is also 150 cm, so it’s not difficult to calculate - how much fabric, so much insulation.

But, if the lining is quilted separately, you should know that insulation may not be necessary in the area of ​​​​the side seams and on the sleeve under the arms. And the lining for the part "Back lower part" can be quilted not to the bottom, but only in the upper third.

The lining of the back of the hood may also not be quilted - this is at the discretion of the couturier.

6. How to cut this down jacket at home

The fact that before cutting you need to clearly know which version of the style you have chosen has been said more than once.

If chosen, you need to present the cutting sequence:

1. Cut the details from the fabric of the "top", that is, from raincoat fabric (picture 3). To cut the pick, the shelf pattern is cut along the line marked on the drawing (picture 2) or a separate pattern is made.
2. Cutting parts from the lining fabric (picture 2 и picture 4)
3. Ironing cut details is a must.
4. Basting cut parts on the insulation (large oblique stitches 5 - 7 cm). Experienced tailors can pin the details on the insulation with tailor's pins.
5. Open the heater.

Now let's look at the features of all these points.

When cutting raincoat fabric with subsequent stitching, we use large allowances - we increase them by 1,5 - 2 cm compared to the usual ones. This is necessary in order to start (in this case, cut again) all the workpieces with the usual seam allowances after quilting. And the basics should be made according to the patterns.

The usual allowances, as you know, are 1 - 1,2 cm. Exceptions: sprout, neck, armhole, round - they go without allowances or with a minimum of 0,5 cm.

The share thread is marked in the drawings. But in this case, it is possible not to observe a strictly shared direction for the details of the pick-ups and the lower collar (picture 3).

The cutting of the "top" is performed on a fabric spread in one layer - in a turn.

Cut the lining - the fabric is folded in half (picture 4). Fragments of the sleeve (PP and ZP) can be combined into one part. Allowances can be omitted from the burlap, unless you want the pockets a little deeper.

7. How to sew this down jacket with your own hands

Sewing step by step:

1. If the details of the "top" and the lining are already basted on the insulation, and without this you will not cut the insulation accurately, then we start sewing the jacket by quilting the "top" and the lining.
2. After stitching - basing on the patterns.
3. After basing - pockets.
4. The assembly of the "top", while the lower part of the back is not yet attached to the upper part of the jacket and "lives its own life".
5. Lining assembly. The lining of the lower part of the back is assembled separately. On the lining of the "bodice" of the jacket, more precisely on the back, you need to sew one braid of a detachable zipper for the subsequent fastening of the lower part of the back.
6. The connection of the "top" and lining. The lower part of the back is assembled separately and the second part of the zipper is sewn to it.
