Cutting

The set of dress patterns, in addition to the bodice and flared skirt, includes two patterns of sleeves of the “flashlight” type: with an assembly along the rim (short and 3/4) and with warehouses along the rim (short and 3/4).

When laying out the patterns on the fabric, pay attention to the seam allowances (Fig. 2, 3, 4).

We add 3-4 cm along the bottom of the bodice. Such a large allowance has a double meaning.

Firstly, it will allow you to find the optimal waist level for a particular figure.

And secondly, if natural fabric is used for tailoring, it will allow to lengthen the bodice after shrinkage of the fabric.

There is a special story with the middle seam: the bodice of the back should be laid on the fabric in such a way that the share coincides with the middle line of the back, which is indicated on the pattern.

This very middle line of the back should be located 1 cm from the edge. Thus, the allowance for the middle seam will be uneven.

The rest of the seam allowances are the same as usual.

Side, shoulder, bottom of the sleeve, bottom of the skirt, middle seam of the skirt - 1 cm.

The neckline, armholes, waist section of the skirt and sleeve hem - cut out for the stroke line.

On fig. 2 shows cutting with a minimum consumption of fabric.

On fig. 3 we change the style of the skirt without modeling, laying the patterns of the flared skirt with an indent from the edges and a half-skid to the width of the assembly, that is, by 5-10 cm.

So that the middle seam of the skirt lies beautifully and does not look tight, it can be beveled a little, stepping back from the edges by a couple of centimeters.

And the simplest solution for a skirt is “tatyanka” - that is, a skirt made of a strip of fabric (Fig. 4).

The only difficulty in this option is to determine the width of the skirt.

If you use the entire width of the cut, as shown in Fig. 4, the skirt will be quite fluffy and will look good only on very delicate figures or made of very thin fabrics.
