How to sew such a hat with your own hands according to the pattern

The format of the files of the electronic pattern of the wolf cap

Sewing difficulty level: medium.

The model is recommended for sewing by tailors with skills in working with faux fur. The sizes are given conditional, while the number of the size corresponds to the measure of the girth of the head. Manufacturers sew a “wolf hat” in one “universal” size.

For tailoring, faux fur with a long nap is recommended. As a lining for an economy option, you can use a lining fabric quilted with synthetic winterizer (thermal stitch is better), for higher-class products it is recommendedUse wool lining and wool batting. Sherstepon, sintepuh or vatex are also suitable as a heater. Of course, the stitch in this case must be done by the couturier himself.

The fur consumption will be 35-37 cm, depending on the size, with a fur width of 160 cm. The lining consumption is about 60 cm, the insulation consumption is up to 40 cm, with a width of 150 cm.

A set of patterns consists of patterns "wolf hat (fur)", "wolf hat (lining)" and "ear" in three versions (picture 1).

How to cut a “wolf hat” according to a finished pattern

The fur is laid out in a turn, wrong side up. The details of the “wolf hat (fur)” and “ear” are stacked taking into account the direction of the pile and are circled twice, as shown in 2 drawing. If you want to sew a wolf hat with external pockets, then they are cut out according to the same pattern.

All fur details are cut out beyond the line of the outline of the pattern, that is, with an actual allowance of 0,7 cm.

When cutting fur, cut only its base and do not touch the pile!

The lining is cut out with allowances of 0,7 - 1 cm. To save money, the fabric is laid out in a spread when cutting.

How to sew a wolf hat

First, we process the ears. As you have already seen, there are patterns of fur parts of the ears with a tuck that needs to be stitched. And patterns of lining ears with fold markings (figure 1 a) and tuck markup (figure 1 b) - choose any option. If it's a fold, lay it down; if it's a tuck, stitch it.

Grip the ears and turn them inside out.

Stitch the finished ears to one side of the top tuck, then stitch the tucks and the middle seam.

Then process the pocket - sew the lining to the concave cut of the fur pocket, putting it face to face and fold it to the wrong side. Secure the lining with machine stitching.

Stitch the finished pockets to the fur hat.

If the lining is already quilted, then stitch the darts and the middle seam. On the middle seam, leave an unstitched section of 12 - 15 cm to turn the hat through it.

If you quilt it yourself, cut out the lining with an allowance of 2 - 3 cm. Then put the parts on the insulation and baste them, stepping back from the cuts of the lining details 2 cm. Basting is done with long (up to 4 cm) oblique stitches.

Cut out the swept insulation with an allowance of up to 2 cm.

After quilting, iron the lining and, after applying the pattern, give the details an accurate outline.

And after that, grind the tucks and the middle seam. On the middle seam, leave an unstitched section of 12 - 15 cm to turn the hat through it.

Connect the fur "top" and "lining". Turn the hat inside out through the hole you left and sew it up with a machine or hand stitch.
